Acting Out Loud: Building Speech and Communication Skills Through the Performing Arts

Enhance your voice, public speaking, and acting skills with our dynamic classes, blending evidence-based speech-language pathology with acting, improv, and creative arts exercises for a fun and active learning experience. Perfect for individuals of all abilities, our workshops are designed to empower your communication, ensuring everyone in the community can express themselves confidently and effectively with or without speech-language impairments. Available in-person and via telehealth, these sessions are your key to unlocking a powerful, clear, and impactful voice.

Class Details:

  • Each class is 1 hour

  • Group and individual classes are available

  • Strategies focus on:

    • Posture

    • Diaphragmatic breathing

    • Vocal loudness

    • Clearer speech

Time, Location, Cost:

  • When: Determined based on preferences of individual or group

  • Where: In-person and telehealth

  • Cost: $85/hour (cash/check), $90/hour (credit card)

  • Minimum age: 15 years

Dr. Katrina Fulcher-Rood is an accomplished speech-language pathologist with a Ph.D. in Communication Disorders and Sciences. Celebrated for her scholarly work, which was recognized by The New York Times, she merges her clinical expertise with her experience as a performer to teach vocal empowerment techniques that celebrate and include all.
